Helping young ones grasp 24 hr time

I have been working with Haylee lately with telling time.
She is doing a super job with figuring it out, but it's so tough for
young ones to truly grasp what 24 hrs of time really is.

I just happen to be surfing on Pinterest (which is my normal past time :)
I saw a post on a time lapse ruler.  WOW!

The link lead to a pay for website, which I try to avoid so did a little googling
- and boom - there it is - a type of ruler that has a 24 hr period
on it with noon and midnight as reference points.

LOVE IT!!!

So instantly printed it out and highlited here and there and drew on a sun at noon
and a moon for midnight, cut it out - laminated it with clear contact paper
(which is awesome - I use it on everything.)
Can't wait for the next "time" lesson and I think this is going t help so very much!

Here is the printable link if you want to try it out too.

Click on it and save to desktop.  Then print and cut.

Felt Tic Tac Toe Bag

Recently I saw a post - somewhere (wish I could remember) that had a felt
homemade tic tac toe game and I instantly fell in love with it.
I changed a few things about it so I didn't have to sew all the parts - only
the bag - which could be glued also.

I love little projects that are this simple.
Two pieces of felt cut into a square.
Two other colors for circle game pieces
Velcro for closing the bag
and some puffy paint.

That's it.

Except for some glue if you want to glue the project
If not just stitch the two squares together.

I put a couple of pieces of peel and stick velcro  inside the
edge for closing pieces inside of bag.

Paint on divider lines and x's and o's on game pieces and
wait.

I think that is the hardest part of it all.

Once dry, play.  :)

Would be great to pack into any travel bag or in the car for playing with.
Since the pieces are felt, they almost stick together so would be great fun anywhere.

Wish I could remember what site I saw this on so I could give credit to them.
Thanks to whomever.  LOVE the project!

Oh what an adorable simple little craft for weaving.
I think Haylee will love this craftie and we will put a small
magnet on the backside to hang on fridge, etc.  :)

Haylee's Birthday Present - - - -for Gramps

Haylee has gotten pretty good at painting stuff lately and totally loves it.
So I found an unpainted birdhouse at Wal-mart for her to make
for her Grandpa's birthday.

We painted 2 coats on each side.  One side each day so it
took some patience for her to let them dry and wait till the next
day to do another color on another side.

Uh Nanny . . . . . I got too much paint on here!
(ck out her eyes)
I could barely take the pic and keep a straight face.  :)

Just gotta LOVE that lil' face!!!!

Haylee's finished birdhouse for her Gramp's for his birthday.
I think she did a spectacular job on it.
( I helped line up the letters but that's about it.)

She picked the colors, which sides to be each color, etc.

And the MOST surprising of all, she actually kept it
quiet for the entire week.

That was the tougher part of the project than anything.  lol!
